Hello!
Wouldn’t you agree that there is nothing better to brighten your spirit than a festive holiday song? Some classic songs take us back to our Chrismases as children and others remind us warmly of people, places, parties, etc. I love to listen to holiday music while baking, trimming the tree, and of course while I am driving around looking at all the beautiful holiday lights.
I am suddenly reminded of a scene from Buddy in the Elf Movie…
So on that note, here is a list of some of my all time favorite holiday songs:
- Baby, It’s Cold Outside (Buddy sang it in the Elf Movie too!)
- I’ll Be Home For Christmas by Bing Crosby
- Christmas Journey by Wayne Newton
- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Ella Fitzgerald
- The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole
- Silent Night by Dean Martin
- Christmas, Baby Please Come Home by Darlene Love
- O Holy Night by Josh Grobin
- The Prayer by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli
- All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey
Guess which song is my absolute favorite is??? Surprise or no surprise, it’s Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas! I also loved the version sang by the young Joanna in the movie Love Actually. Amazing! I feel like I am really aged myself but I don’t care. You cannot mess with the classic tunes! LOL!
A few newer holiday songs I discovered this year are:
- Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande
- Man With The Bag by Jessie J
- The Lighthouse Keeper by Sam Smith (I just heard this today and I already love it!)
There are so many amazing holiday songs out there! I highly recommend that you try listening to some Christmassy playlists on Spotify and create your own seasonal list! Maybe make it a new yearly tradition! Remember… Sing loud for all to hear!
If you haven’t heard of some of the songs I listed, please have a listen and let me know your thoughts!
May you find a song to enlighten you this season and keep you Lit With Joy! 🔥
Love,
Joyce
