When I was a child my sisters and I so looked forward to watching some of the holiday classic movies on TV. This meant that Christmas was just around the corner.
From Frosty The Snowman and How The Grinch Stole Christmas, to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and my childhood favourite, The Man in the Santa Claus Suit with Fred Astaire. We were giddy with excitement and counting the days until Christmas!
As adults, some days the magic of the holidays feels more like a chore with all the to-do lists and so little time to left to complete them. This pandemic year has also taken a heavy toll on our moral. With most of us staying home this season, watching some feel good holiday movies could provide some quality family time, relaxation, and a holiday recharge.
Here are some of my favourite holiday movies I highly recommend!
Family Themed:
- A Christmas Carol (Patrick Stewart Version 1999)
- Elf
- Frozen
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
- Home Alone
- Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
- The Santa Clause
- The Santa Clause 2
For Grown-Ups:
- Last Holiday
- Love Actually
- Merry Christmas Mr. Bean
- Serendipity
- Sleepless in Seattle
- The Holiday
- While You Were Sleeping
- You’ve Got Mail
There are also many enjoyable TV movies and specials on at this time. The Hallmark Channel has their Countdown to Christmas movies. Netflix, Prime Video and other streaming services also offer lots holiday movies.
I hope you discover some wonderful holiday entertainment to lighten your spirit. Wishing you warm & relaxing evenings that keep you Lit with Joy! 🎄
Love,
Joyce
