Today is a new moon in Virgo! What??? How can there be a “new moon?” Well…. You’ve all seen the moon in various stages – crescent, half, full, etc. But have you ever noticed that the moon is sometimes absent from the night sky? I mentioned this to a friend recently and he had no idea that the moon is actually invisible even on the clearest of nights. This lunar event is called a new moon. The moon is really quite splendid! Not only does it control our tides and keep planet Earth on it’s axis, but a new moon is also the perfect time to start manifesting your hearts desires!
What does it mean to “Manifest?” Merriam-Webster defines it as a verb: to make evident or certain by showing or displaying. The more we visualize having what we wish for, and more importantly FEELING the joy in already having it, the better our chances of these wishes becoming a reality! This can work for material possessions, finances, a new love, a promotion, etc.
While the moon is starting it’s waxing or growth cycle until it becomes full, we too can “grow” by asking, chanting, writing, drawing, and singing our hopes and dreams into the Universe! I am a novice with regards to this subject, but it’s one that interests me significantly. The idea that if I am authentic and genuine with my wishes, they may come true! Wow! Why wouldn’t everyone at least try it out!?
There is a beautiful New Age store (ombienetre.com) in my neighbourhood that offers Moon Workshops. (Btw, they also offer online Zoom classes during the pandemic!) I participated in one last fall and learned loads on the moon phases, gratitude, affirmations, and manifesting. There are also several reference books on this subject.
I purchased the book Moonology by Yasmin Boland which offers wonderful information how the Moon can assist us during every cycle. With my new passion for Oracle Decks, I just had to have Yasmin’s Moonology Oracle Cards as well. These beautiful cards provide helpful guidance and additional reflection on what it is you are inquiring about.
With today’s New Moon, I began shuffling my Moonology Oracle Deck while asking what I most needed to know at this time with regards to my blog “Lit With Joy”… The card Supermoon jumped out of the deck!
“Emotions are running high!” Absolutely spot on! I am super emotional about this blog, the promise I feel it has, and the content I want to share. The description of the card “Supermoon” in the accompanying booklet also mentioned… Very Successful… Being Special… Good Things & Positive Outcome… Don’t Ignore the Obvious… TAKE ACTION!!!
We don’t need to wait for a New Moon to manifest our dream… We can begin at any time but the potential for success is greater during the new moon phase. Lucky for us a new moon occurs every 29-30 days. So here I am, excited at the potential of where this journey will lead me. I am open to ideas, prepared to work hard, and am ready to go for it! What are we waiting for? Let’s start manifesting our best lives ever!!!
